CTG is seeking to fill a Reactive Ion Etch (RIE) Technician opening for our client in Yorktown Heights, NY.
**Location:** Yorktown Heights, NY
**Duration:** Ongoing Contract
**Shift:** 3:00 PM – 12:00 AM
Duties:
+ Develop and execute wafer processing on reactive ion etch (RIE) platform tools in a cleanroom FAB environment
+ Handle and process semiconductor wafers, including chemical and compressed gas interactions
+ Operate reactive ion etch tools and related in-FAB equipment to support the fabrication of advanced semiconductor devices on 200mm wafers
+ Collaborate with engineers and research teams to accomplish technical tasks with precision and adherence to protocols
+ Maintain thorough documentation and communicate clearly on process details and experimental results
+ Learn new procedures and adapt quickly to shifting priorities in a fast-paced R&D setting
Skills:
+ Familiarity with RIE fundamentals, tool operation, and plasma chemistry
+ Proficiency in cleanroom procedures, safety protocols, and semiconductor manufacturing practices
+ Ability to work safely with chemicals and hazardous gases
+ Strong computer and analytical skills
+ Effective time management and high attention to detail
+ Strong verbal and written communication skills
Experience:
+ Experience working in a semiconductor manufacturing line or similar cleanroom environment preferred (entry-level candidates welcome)
+ Background in chemistry, physics, or materials science is beneficial
+ Prior hands-on experience with cleanroom safety standards and wafer processing is a plus
Education:
+ BA/BS in Engineering, Chemistry, Material Science, Microelectronics, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
Safety Requirements:
+ Must be able to stand for extended periods
+ Required to lift up to 85 pounds (e.g., 10-gallon carboys) and maneuver 55-gallon drums (approx. 500 lbs)
+ Must demonstrate dexterity and ability to evacuate independently in case of emergency
+ Required to complete a series of safety trainings including, but not limited to:
+ Chemical Hygiene
+ Electrical Safety
+ Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
+ Hazard Communication
+ Lock Out / Tag Out Awareness
+ Laboratory and Machine Guarding Safety
+ Arsenic and Lead Safety
+ Hazardous Gas Safety
+ Nanoparticle Safety
+ Contractor Safety Orientation
+ MRL Cleanroom Access training
Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.
