• Chief Engineer

    EPSILON SYSTEMS (Portsmouth, VA)


    Epsilon Systems is seeking a full time Chief Engineer for Portsmouth, VA.

    Summary:

    Reports to the Sr. Vice President of Modernization. Responsible for leading technical engineering efforts in support of various Modernization Programs.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    + Apply and develop highly advanced technical technologies, scientific principles, theories and concepts.

    + Be the spokesperson on technical capabilities and future directions.

    + Design the research for and the development of highly advanced new technological applications.

    + Possess sufficient writing and communication skills to prepare and present reports, papers, proposals, briefings and other documentation pertinent to the position.

    + Lead technical personnel and activities for large programs or groups of programs.

    Required Qualifications:

    + Bachelors Degree in Engineering Discipline from an accredited college or university, and, a Masters Degree in an Engineering or Management Discipline from an accredited college or university.

    + Ten or more (10+) years experience and proven practical knowledge of engineering applications in maritime vessels.

    + Ten or more (10+) years' experience in oversite of a team of 10 or more engineers.

    + Experience managing engineering projects involving, maintenance, repair, testing, product improvement, or

    + alteration of naval ship Hull, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronic, Ordnance equipment and systems. Minimum ten

    + (10) years of working experience in engineering projects involved in design, test, repair, and maintenance or

    + operation of Hull, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronic, Ordnance equipment Systems and equipment.

    + Frequent standing, sitting, walking, handling, feeling with hands, reaching with arms.

    + Prolonged sitting and use of computer, (typing, keyboarding)

    + Regular communication (hearing/speaking).

    + Occasional stooping, kneeling, and crouching.

    + Occasional lifting up to 20+ pounds.

    + Noise conditions range from very quiet to noise levels above 85db.
