    Job Summary

    The Medical Staff Coordinator position supports the physician governance committee with agenda prep, follow up items, documentation of minutes, flow and facilitation of meetings within medical staff structure. Interpret medical staff bylaws and communicates policy/procedure changes, as needed. Provide administrative and clerical support to medical staff. Must be self-directed with a high level of accountability and works with minimal supervision. One of the functions of this role is the continual planning in advance of Medical Staff Committees and functions which involves significant coordination among physician leadership, membership, and clinical coordinators. Provides documentation of medical staff meeting context, applying principles of medical/legal and peer review protection. May assist with credentialing process, including but not limited to establishing and updating provider files through both an online and paper credentialing application and reapplication process, obtaining and evaluating primary source verification of provider credentials, maintaining current verifications that expire, and facilitating the communication of significant findings and process milestones to customers, based on business need as directed by department leadership.

    Qualifications

    Associates degree required in related field or three year's of relevant work experience.

     

    Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.

     

    Microsoft Office Certification preferred
