Position Title:
Senior Staff Accountant

Job Responsibilities:
+ Administer payroll budget for NTID, ensuring accuracy in payment amount and costing account for 500+ employees. Research and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner, through the appropriate channels.
+ Maintain accuracy of position and salary information in the NTID Budget database.
+ Manage financial and reporting aspects of operating equipment budget and purchase activity.
+ Review department reporting to ensure budgets are balanced; perform budget adjustments.
+ Provide training, communication and ongoing support for NTID budget assistants and managers, ensuring understanding and compliance with financial policies, procedures and timelines.
+ Manage NTID Finance office operating budget, PNC card, department purchases, and the monthly reconciliation and approval process for PNC card purchases.
+ Collaborate with colleagues in NTID Finance and Budget department on year end processes, fiscal year budgets, transfer/journal entries, documenting/updating financial policies and procedures, administration of the NTID budget system and all other finance related responsibilities as assigned.
+ NTID staff will be required to take ASL classes to become fluent within 3-5yrs of hire.

Required Qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
+ Financial literacy – ability to understand and make independent, sound financial decisions
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data manipulation (pivot tables, formulas, etc.)
+ Critical thinking/analytical skills – ability to interpret data, identify and resolve discrepancies
+ Attention to detail and accountability
+ Organizational skills and time management – ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively
+ Strong communication skills – ability to articulate professionally, clearly and concisely, in both written and verbal formats
Preferred Qualifications:
+ 3+ years of experience in finance, accounting or related field.
+ Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting or related program ideal.

Position provides comprehensive accounting and financial functions within the College of NTID. Performs analyses, supports audit engagements and/or management self-assessment activities, reconciles transactions, and generates reports to assist NTID management in decision-making, while ensuring compliance with university policies and regulations. Ensures accuracy and timeliness in all accounting and financial activities, seeking opportunities to enhance operational and financial effectiveness.
