Salary Dependent upon Experience, Academic Preparation and the ATA Contract

+ Current New York State Certification in Spanish 7-12;

+ Willingness to expand and develop both knowledge of subject matter and instructional strategies to improve student learning;

+ Desire and experience working with students who possess special needs;

+ Experience in the use of instructional technology, communications and information systems to support student learning;

+ Develop and maintain a classroom environment conducive to effective Spanish learning;

+ Employ a variety of instructional techniques, strategies, and structures to engage students in collaborative learning;

+ Utilize a diverse range of teaching practices for language acquisition to target a wide range of learners;

+ Ensure that all students are growing in their abilities to understand, speak, read and write Spanish to improve interpretive, interpersonal and presentational language skills;

+ Develop student understanding and appreciation of the language, and the cultures of Spanish speaking countries through the examination of their unique products, practices, and perspectives.
