    AIS Math Teacher

     

    Salary/Pay Scale:$43,953 - $54,207 commensurate with experience (with an additional $2,200 for a Master's Degree as per the TAC contract)

    Position Summary/Purpose:

    In the Cheektowaga-Sloan UFSD, the faculty and staff are dedicated to creating a positive student centered learning environment that recognizes all students' unique needs and talents by combining character education with a curriculum based on critical thinking. The emphasis is on teaching the whole child to create lifelong learners who are best prepared for college, careers, and beyond.

    RESPONSIBILITIES & SKILLS:

    + Provide targeted, small-group instruction in mathematics to students identified for AIS support ● Design and implement intervention strategies tailored to individual student needs ● Create and deliver lessons grounded in evidence-based practices and current formative data ● Collaborate and communicate with classroom teachers to align AIS instruction with grade-level instruction

    + Monitor student progress using data-driven assessments and adjust instruction accordingly ● Maintain accurate documentation of student performance and communicate regularly with families and other educational stakeholders

    + Participate in faculty meetings, professional learning, and collaborative planning sessions ● Support a positive, inclusive, and respectful classroom and school culture

    + Manage student behavior in the classroom with appropriate disciplinary techniques and utilize restorative practices

    + Have excellent verbal and written communication skills

    + Other duties as assigned by the Superintendent or her designee

    Requirements:

    + NYSED Certification N-6 (Nursery, Kindergarten, and Grades 1-6) or equivalent certification ● Math experience/concentration preferred but not required
