    Job Description

    SUMMARY:

    This position is responsible for making and serving nutritious meals for students in a safe and healthful manner.

     

    Mon - Fri 8:00AM - 1:30PM-locations/hours subject to change

     

    Assists in preparing of food and have some cooking skills.* Serves meals to students and staff.* Performs cleaning duties, including sweeping and mopping of floors, cleaning of equipment and work areas, dish & pot washing * Fills beverage machines & vending machines, sets up hot and/or cold food area.* Delivers, when necessary, food to staff, students and catering events.* Prepares and serve food according to menus, ability to read receipes and follow

     

    Prepare Salad Bar & Deli Bar according to program plans

     

    Ability to use a slicer* Checks and stores incoming supplies.* Serve Safe Certified a plus* Participates on safety & training courses as required.* Attends all mandatory in-service programs and training* Supports the goals, objective and mission statement set forth by Whitsons.* Performs all other duties as assigned.

    Requirements

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES:

    * High school graduate or equivalent.* Ability to speak and read English in order to understand and perform job assignments, including reading and understand recipes.* Extensive physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting , bending, pushing, and pulling.* Ability to use POS system* Exposure to extreme temperatures (hot and cold) due to cooking and refrigeration equipment.* Always present a positive and professional image.* Basic English Reading and Writing Skills* Able to Pass Background Screening* Able to pass strict background screening

    * ServSafe Certification a plus but not required

    Mon - Fri 6:30AM - 2:30PM- days and hours subject to change. Follows a school schedule.
