    STARLINK ENTERPIRSE FLEET MANAGER (AVIATION)

    As a member of our Fleet Support team, you will serve as a critical point of contact for customers from early capabilities studies through successful launch, entry into service and ongoing technical support. You’ll support new business proposals from initial requirements verification through engineering design, prototype development, and test. You’ll work directly with a small team of subject matter experts from diverse fields to quickly iterate on solutions and ensure they meet all customer needs. Our development and support timelines are aggressive, and you will be asked to rigorously explore solutions for previously unsolved problems. Our ideal candidate has a passion for making things work, is a self-starter, and is hungry to do work that matters. As a Fleet Manager, you will serve as the main technical point of contact for our aviation customers. You’ll coordinate internal SpaceX personnel to support during all phases of our relationship.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    + Lead programmatic aspects of aviation and/or airline programs, from contract award through integration, test, installation and ongoing operations to ensure all contract requirements are met

    + Responsible for continuous monitoring of aircraft performance and to develop and deliver clear communication to airline operations, maintenance and engineering teams ensuring minimal downtime across the fleet

    + Support proposal efforts to align new efforts with long-term strategic vision and engineering objectives, and to ensure contract requirements are executable

    + Be the primary escalation point of contact for your customers, to resolve technical issues, coordinate technical processes improvements while maintaining positive relationships

    + Plan and lead technical customer reviews and implementation through cross-company coordination, developing and briefing technical content on complex designs, trade studies, risks, and issues

    + Collaborate with engineering groups to understand system performance, how hardware and software changes impact requirements, performance, and implementation ensuring it is clearly communicated to our customers

    + Identify, design, and lead implementation of system and process enhancements to improve the overall performance of internal and external systems, process and interfaces

    + Act as the focal and extreme owner by traveling and supporting on-wing field troubleshooting and diagnostic efforts as required to ensure issues are well understood and resolved in a efficient way

    BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

    + Bachelor's degree; OR high school diploma/equivalency certificate and 10+ years of professional business development, operations, engineering, or account management experience

    + 6+ years of experience in program management, project management, systems engineering, or operations

    + 6+ years working with customers to support a technical product or service in the aerospace market

    PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

    + Bachelor's degree in engineering or business

    + Experience working directly with commercial airlines, civil aviation authorities, or other aerospace systems manufacturers

    + Experience working as an aircraft mechanic or engineer

    + Ability to work in a fast-paced, autonomously driven, and demanding start-up atmosphere

    + Experience with avionics or aerospace development, integration, and/or test experience

    + Strong penchant for innovation in process improvement and system design

    + Excellent written and verbal communication skills with direct experience negotiating technical deliverables or scope

    + Strong interpersonal skills, and an ability to tailor communications to the audience

    ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

    + Ability to travel up to 30% of the time

    + Must be available to work extended hours and/or weekends as needed to support critical milestones or operations shifts

    + This is NOT a remote position and would require relocation if not local to the Woodinville, WA area

    COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

    Pay Range:

    Fleet Manager: $130,000.00 - $180,000.00/per year

     

    Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.

     

    Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX. You may also be eligible for long-term incentives, in the form of company stock, stock options, or long-term cash awards, as well as potential discretionary bonuses and the ability to purchase additional stock at a discount through an Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
