Position Overview:
The senior director of Editorial and Social Media will lead the development and execution of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s editorial and social media strategies. The ideal candidate will create compelling content that aligns with the Chamber’s mission, help expand the influence and awareness of its work, and drive engagement. The candidate will have a strong background in editorial management, social media strategy, and digital content creation, with a proven track record of growth and audience engagement. An entrepreneurial approach is a bonus for this role, which encourages experimentation and collaboration to achieve results.
Responsibilities:
+ Develop and implement a comprehensive editorial and social media strategy that supports the Chamber’s advocacy, policy, and communication goals and ensures consistent, effective messaging.
+ Help prioritize the creation, curation, and distribution of high-quality content across all digital channels, including the Chamber’s website, social media platforms, and newsletters.
+ Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including policy experts, communications teams, and external partners, to produce content that resonates with target audiences.
+ In partnership with audience growth colleagues, analyze the performance of digital content and social media campaigns to refine strategies, innovate, and achieve results.
+ Create, experiment, and innovate to ensure that the Chamber remains at the forefront of digital communication.
+ Develop and maintain relationships with key influencers, media outlets, and industry partners to amplify the Chamber’s message and reach.
+ Ensure that all content adheres to the Chamber’s brand guidelines, tone, and style.
Qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, marketing, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
+ Minimum of 10 years of experience in editorial management, social media strategy, and digital content creation.
+ Experience leading and managing a team of content creators and social media professionals and growing audience engagement.
+ Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills, with the ability to create engaging platform- and audience-specific content.
+ In-depth knowledge of social media platforms, digital marketing tools, and analytics software.
+ Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
+ Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
+ Creative thinker with a strategic mindset and a passion for digital innovation.
+ Experience in a nonprofit, advocacy, or policy-driven organization is a plus.
The salary range for this position is $118,000.00 to $125,000.00. The actual salary paid for this position will vary based on market data, an applicant’s qualifications, relevant degrees, certifications, and other factors. Our full-time employees are eligible for benefits, including health care, vision, dental, retirement, and paid leave.
