Will train at Shawnee Mission, then transfer to Lenexa City Center once the hospital opens in July 2025.

Our newest hospital in the Kansas City metro area — AdventHealth Lenexa City Center — will include around-the-clock emergency care, surgical services and inpatient beds for medical-surgical and short-stay units.
The new campus will include:
+ 244,000 square feet
+ Capacity for 98 total beds (44 on opening and 54 slated for future expansion)
+ Four operating rooms (two upon opening and two slated for future dates)

The role you’ll contribute:
The Quality Improvement Coordinator (QIC) is part of the Quality Management department. The QIC is responsible to collect, aggregate, analyze, and summarize quality data for hospital organizational performance and may include physician performance data. The position participates in hospital-wide outcome and performance improvement activities and provides direction to service lines and clinical departments as it relates to data collection as assigned. In addition, the QIC works closely with leaders, to ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements such as The Joint Commission, Kansas Department of Health and Environment, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS) and Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

+ Knowledge of and utilizes statistical approaches, measurement techniques, including benchmark and comparative data to develop quality reports.
+ Collects, aggregates, analyzes, summarizes and reports quality data for hospital organizational performance and physician performance data as indicates.
+ Participates in hospital-wide outcomes and quality improvement initiatives/ performance improvement teams.
+ Assists in efforts to improve and streamline the process and workflow of the department.
+ Demonstrates the ability to set appropriate priorities.
+ Recognizes how absence impacts the functioning of the healthcare team and strives to minimize this effect.
+ When requested, is willing to adjust personal schedule in order to complete workload when necessary
+ Attends educational offerings as needed to promote continuous learning and support to department
+ Collaborates with leaders, staff, and physicians to improve quality, patient safety, and organizational performance.
+ Identify opportunities to improve patient outcomes through direct, timely interaction with physicians and all healthcare providers.
+ Develops and collects quality indicators as assigned. Compiles, analyzes, and communicates findings to the appropriate committees or leaders. Coordinates the collection, trending, and reporting of QI data used for process improvement efforts.
+ Continues to develop and utilize comprehensive databases of clinical information to enable physicians, hospital leaders and departments analyze practice patterns and make improvements. E.g. MIDAS, excel worksheets, access databases, Cerner e-Quality etc.
+ Addresses opportunities for improvement with open, honest, outcome oriented approach for success.
+ Act as resource for staff and physicians as it relates to evidence-based measures
+ Coordinates assigned meetings to include review of agendas, notices, notebooks and minutes. Perform necessary follow-up based upon actions taken by the committee.
+ Provides education formal and informal related to assigned areas.
+ Review all admissions, screening for presence of core measures as assigned.
+ Maintains e-Quality measure abstraction through the continuum- concurrent and retro abstraction
+ Hospital resource for data measures definitions, esp. publicly reported data. Provides education as needed.
+ Working knowledge of The Joint Commission, CMS CoP’s, Kansas Risk Management statutes, and Patient Safety Organization (PSO) requirements, as it pertains to performance improvement, patient safety, and quality.
+ Completes accurate and timely collection / submission of data to various registries / quality databases, including publicly reported data as assigned.
+ Accountable for engaging in opportunities to improve knowledge and application of CMS measures
+ Seeks new learning opportunities for evidence- based practice and application
+ Cross trains to others’ assignments within the department to gain depth in duties and allow cross coverage.
Qualifications
The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:
+ Associate or Graduate of a Technical School Required
+ Bachelor's Required
+ 2 Years of Nursing Experience RN Clinical Experience Required
+ 2 Years of Position-Related Experience Preferred
+ RN - Registered Nurse - State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure Kansas Required
+ CPHQ - Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality Preferred
