    Job Description Summary

    The APD Digital Engineering Ecosystem (DEE) subsection is a systems organization responsible for the development, integration and deployment of the DEE for a new military CAT1 NPI. This NPI will progress through the design, development, vehicle integration, testing and qualification of an engine concept that integrates advanced technologies to meet challenging customer requirements. The DEE is a collaborative network which allows permission-based access to program information through a common data repository for all program level information to enable the development, coordination and delivery of engineering products to the customer. It consists of an integrated set of digital tools, processes, methodologies, databases and connections that will enable the design, development, integration, manufacturing & assembly, testing, qualification and maintenance of the engine concept.

     

    The APD DEE Engineer will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining various aspects of the DEE and ensure that customers, suppliers and cross-functional team members understand the benefits and properly employ the DEE to achieve program objectives. This role requires a strong background in classical systems engineering, digital tools, and data analytics. The successful candidate must be self-motivated and able to work with multiple external customers and stakeholders to ensure coordination and execution of program efforts.

     

    This role is pivotal in the creation and implementation of the DEE. The DEE will integrate with our customer DEE to enable collaboration and knowledge parity. The DEE will serve as the information repository for engine qualification, production, fielding and sustainment. This role is critical to driving innovation and efficiency in engineering processes, enabling teams to deliver high-quality engineering products faster and more effectively.

    Job Description

    Roles and Responsibilities:

    + Design, implement, and maintain a robust digital ecosystem that supports engineering work, collaboration, and data integration with our customers and Edison Works program team.

    + Develop dashboards and APIs connected to the information in the DEE to provide customers and program leadership situational awareness of the program and facilitate real time decision-making.

    + Develop and execute a strategy for DEE data management ensuring customer requirements and IP protection goals are met.

    + Ensure proper handling, storage, and accessibility of engineering data, including design documentation, CAD models, simulation analysis, and test results within the DEE.

    + Ensure seamless integration and interoperability of digital tools within the DEE.

    + Proactively monitor DEE system performance and implement improvements to ensure reliability and scalability.

    + Work with the Digital Technology (DT) team and Information Assurance (IA) team to implement software solutions within the DEE and coordinate support for networking infrastructure.

    + Stay up to date with the latest trends and technologies in digital engineering and data analytics and continuously improve existing tools and processes to enhance the effectiveness of the DEE.

    + Incorporate the use of lean/flight deck methodologies within the DEE.

    Qualification/Requirements:

    + Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, Computer Science or Mathematics from an accredited college or university.

    + Minimum of 7 years of experience in a relevant engineering position.

    + Due to the nature of the duties of this position, this role requires the individual to obtain and maintain US Government Security Clearance; prerequisite for a security clearance is U.S. citizenship

    + Due to security requirements, this position must be able to work a full-time in the office schedule

    + Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.

    Desired Skills:

    + Active DoD Security Clearance at the Secret level or higher

    + Active “Advanced program” access

    + Excellent communication skills for engaging with customers, coupled with the demonstrated ability to influence teams effectively.

    + Experience utilizing digital tools such as Jira, Confluence, and Cameo

    + Experience developing and maintaining APIs

    + Experience with GE Aerospace Digital tools and processes

    + Experience working with DoD customer and processes

    + Experience with GE Aerospace EVM tools

     

    _This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information.
