Founded in 1921, Straub Benioff Medical Center includes a 159-bed hospital in Honolulu, a network of neighborhood clinics and a visiting specialist program that reaches throughout the state of Hawai'i. Straub neurosurgeons specialize in surgical treatment of neurological disorders and in the treatment of trauma to the head, neck or spine. Among other procedures, our neurosurgeons perform laser microsurgery, surgery for cerebral aneurysms, vascular malformations, pituitary and spinal cord disorders, skull-based tumors and surgical relief of various pain syndromes. Straub's neurosurgeons are among the most skilled and highly qualified in the State of Hawai‘i to practice this delicate surgical specialty.
As the Coordinator for Neurosurgery, you will coordinate the scheduling and authorizations of preoperative appointments, surgeries, and procedures at the request of surgeons, proceduralists, and other staff. In this role, you will act as a liaison between patients and the professional staff by facilitating complex scheduling, preparation, and authorization responsibilities.

**Minimum Qualifications:** High school or equivalent. One (1) year of clerical support experience in a health care setting, including medical insurance and collection experience.
Preferred Qualifications: Associate’s degree in Business Administration or related field. Completion of a medical terminology course. Current ICD and CPT coding certification. One (1) year experience with scheduling surgeries and complex procedures and securing prior authorization for these services. Medical terminology. Experience with Epic EHR.
