Summary:
+ The Senior Financial Analyst will provide overshight in the financial close process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in financial reporting. The role will enhance financial operations through process improvements and development of innovative solutions. He/she will also provide strategic financial insights and leadership to support departmental and organizational goals.
Responsibilities:
+ Assist in monthly financial close process including review, analyses, and distribution of internal and external financial information.
+ Oversee the review of monthly transactions for unusual trends, resolve exceptions and correct errors. Suggest monitoring tools and facilitate the production of dashboards to identify issues in real time.
+ Provide support for specific departments as assigned, including but not limited to revenue valuation, expense analysis and accrual proposals, and preparing regulatory reporting as needed.
+ Determine & implement process optimization of statistics & revenue production to improve financial close cycle while maintaining detailed analysis for reviews.
+ Provide insights & recommendations of value adding revenue & statistical reports. Create new processes that can be taught to staff accountants with oversight on the output.
+ Create and maintain database of monthly ad-hoc data to support detailed review and analysis of collection rates and revenue trends.
+ Assist with year-end financial audit as needed.
+ Assist with budget process including leadership in key areas of statistics, revenue & specific departments as assigned.
+ Provide leadership within the accounting team to resolve problems related to standard financial issues and practices.
+ Provide departmental leadership by modeling behaviors that adhere to departmental standards for professional office environment. Constantly be aware of and adhere to UPHS employment policies and procedures.
Credentials:
Education or Equivalent Experience:
+ Bachelors degree in Accounting and 4+ years work experience in a related field
+ Master of Arts or Science preferred.
+ Certified Public Accountant preferred.
