Summary
We are seeking highly skilled, experienced **Armed Security Guards,** well versed in physical security operations to join our team in support of secuity operations at the U.S. Government Printing Office (GPO). Primary duties are to ensure the enforcement of contractual security obligations are met. The Guard is armed with a side arm.
_This position is contingent upon contract award_
Responsibilities
+ Will report directly to the Security Shift Supervisor and inform them of unusual or emergency situations
+ Will enforce all applicable standard operating procedures and government regulations pertaining to security of weapons, buildings, personnel, government property and equipment.
+ Will arrive at work in proper uniform and required issued equipment. Will ensure the cleanliness of uniform and equipment issued.
+ Will be required to exercise force up to, and including deadly force.
+ Will participate in Guard Mount; carry out general and special orders for post assigned.
+ Will communicate via radio, telephone and orally according to orders (in English).
+ Required to interact and escort, as required, with public and government personnel.
+ Will provide access control, traffic control and conduct walking armed security functions.
+ Professionally, and tactfully interact and escort as required with public and government personnel
+ Will conduct personnel, vehicular, building, & facility checks and package & parcel inspection.
+ Must be able to work flexible hours to include, nights, weekends and holidays.
+ Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
+ Minimum High School Diploma or GED;
+ Must be at least 21 years of age.
+ Previous experience with a civilian police force, military police force, or civilian security guard organization is a plus.
+ Minimum of 2 years of proven experience in executing security duties.
+ Must be able to pass a Personal Security Background and NCIC Check prior to assignment
+ Must speak, read, write, and understand the English language, apply written rules, detailed orders, instructions and training material
+ Ability to successfully complete all training and obtain all required permits, licenses, certifications
+ Must be able to work flexible hours to include nights, weekends and holidays.
+ In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification document form upon hire.
+ Possess a valid Drivers license

+ Skill in operating a personal computer and standard office equipment
