Requirements: NYS Certification in School Social Work or Licensed Master Social Work (LMSW) or Licensed Clinical Social Work (LCSW) Salary: $53,000 - $65,400 Commensurate with Experience -Plus contractual stipend of $2,500 per year Building: Black River Elementary, Carthage Elementary & West Carthage Elementary Schedule: Rotating Schedule - Two days at each elementary building a cycle ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties may be assigned.
1. Counsels students individually or in groups.
2. Suggests intervention strategies for teachers and caregivers to use with students.
3. Makes referrals to outside agencies.
4. Confers with teachers, administrators, psychologists, resource teachers and other professional staff and caregivers to discuss student progress and develop plans for student success.
5. Consults with caregivers regarding concerns about students.
6. Participates in AIS, RTI, CSE, etc. meetings as required.
7. Intervenes with students in crisis.
8. Assists in early identification of students’ school related problems.
9. Observes federal, state and local policies and regulations in the delivery of school social work services.
10. Adheres to statutes and regulations addressing civil and legal rights of students, caregivers, and school personnel.
11. Communicates information critical to decision making, but maintains appropriate confidentiality.
12. Provides supervision of students both in and outside of the classroom in accordance with building and district expectations.
13. Reports to school on time.
14. Maintains confidentiality.
15. Adheres to and enforces CCSD Code of Conduct.
16. Participates, when appropriate, in continuous professional growth and development related to the field of social work and/or specific area(s) as assigned.
17. Attends required meetings and follows building rules, procedures and district policies.
18. Maintains positive, cooperative and mutually supportive relationships with students, staff, caregivers, colleagues, district personnel and community.
19. Uses excellent written and oral English skills when communicating with students, staff, caregivers and community.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Supervises students. OTHER: Performs related duties as required or assigned.
