This role supports Cleveland Clinic's mission of providing clinical based care to our patients using non-pharmaceutical manual therapy techniques to help with pain relief, increase mobility, and increase quality of life. We are looking for a PRN (as needed) LMT/Chiropractor assistant. This role will include job responsibilities such as assisting our chiropractor team with patient care, performing chair massages for caregivers and providing 1:1 (50min) Therapeutic Massages for patients.

A caregiver in this position works 7:30am-5:00am or 8:00am-3:30pm.** **_A minimum of 20 hours a month/ 4 shifts a month are required for this role. (PRN ROLE)_

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

+ Administer therapeutic massage and bodywork modalities, including techniques that provide deep tissue, Swedish, trigger point, stretching, pregnancy/post-partum massage, acupressure, reflexology, and hydrotherapy for Chiropractic patients.

+ Administer therapeutic services, including electrical stimulation, therapeutic ultrasound, and stretching and strengthening activities (Under the direction of the chiropractic physician).

+ Work within the Scope of Practice as a Licensed Massage Therapist and an Unlicensed Supportive Personnel under the Ohio Revised Code

+ Interview patients to determine medical history, condition, desired results, and appropriate modality.

+ Monitors patient's responses to treatment and adjusts, changes, or terminates treatment based on feedback.

+ Document patient information, interview responses, treatments, feedback, and results.

+ Maintain therapy area in a clean, safe, sterile, and Organizational state.

+ Assist patients to safely perform activities related to the development of strength and endurance

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

+ High school graduate or equivalent

+ Graduate of an accredited massage therapy training program

+ Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

+ 1 year of experience providing massage services or an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

+ Experience working in the health care field

Physical Requirements:

+ Requires full body motion to move and lift patients and equipment, lifting of items in excess of 30 pounds.

+ Requires standing and walking for extended times.

+ Ability to assist with positioning and transporting patients; e.g., carts and wheelchairs.

+ Requires the ability to maneuver equipment and motor coordination to operate equipment.

+ Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
