    Job Description

    The Office of Internal Affairs and Discipline (IAD) is responsible for investigating allegations of employee misconduct and performing employee background investigations. Under general supervision, the selected candidate will be responsible for the following:

     

    - Assisting with managing day to day operations of staff performing employee misconduct Investigations, and backgrounds Investigations.

     

    - Providing knowledge and expertise to the unit staff with respect to complex and high-priority backgrounds matters

     

    - Ensuring that all backgrounds investigations are timely and appropriately reviewed, recorded, and assigned to an investigator.

     

    - Coordinating and supervising field work, including sting operations, operating in an undercover capacity, performing surveillance, conducting audits, and performing site visits at active construction sites as needed.

     

    - Supervising and conducting interviews of subjects and witnesses, writing and reviewing lengthy, narrative reports recommendations, enforcement actions and orders issued by staff,

     

    - Advising subordinates on investigative steps and strategies in all aspects of duties and investigations.

     

    - Utilizing various databases and web-based programs to verify and gather information and research public records

     

    - Supervising, assigning, and evaluating work of staff investigators, including organizing schedules and assignments

     

    - Daily oversight and management of IAD intake procedures, ensure that all matters referred to IAD are capture, recorded, and assigned a disposition in the 1AD database

     

    - Testifying at administrative hearings and criminal trials

     

    - Conferring with staff attorneys in identifying and reviewing matters of legal/administrative importance.

     

    - Preparing statistical reports, overseeing, and initiating research in furtherance of enforcement and investigative initiatives

     

    - Responding to incidents and accidents as needed, performing joint field operations with inspectors and investigators.

     

    - Conducting special assignments as assigned by the Director or Deputy Director of lAD.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

    1. A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent and four years of satisfactory full-time experience in one or more of the fields of criminal justice administration and planning, forensic science, human resources, labor relations, auditing, building inspection, or legal affairs; or

    2. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college; or

    3. Education and/or experience equivalent to “1” or “2” above.

    REMOTE WORK

    This position may be eligible for remote work up to 2 days per week, pursuant to the Remote Work Pilot Program.

    Salary Min: $ 67,791.00

     

    Salary Max: $102,670.00
