Job Summary
The Administrator of the Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) provides strategic leadership and operational oversight to ensure high-quality, patient-focused care. This role is responsible for driving regulatory compliance, optimizing performance, and aligning center operations with organizational goals. The Administrator partners with key stakeholders to lead quality improvement initiatives, maintain financial sustainability, and ensure excellence in service delivery.
Essential Functions
+ Leads long- and short-term planning efforts that support the ASC’s mission, goals, and strategic objectives.
+ Organizes and facilitates Governing Board meetings; ensures execution of board directives and policies.
+ Oversees all quality improvement programs, including peer review, risk management, infection control, and CMS reporting, integrating them with broader management functions.
+ Directs budgeting, financial planning, and cost containment strategies to sustain operational success.
+ Manages procurement, maintenance, and allocation of supplies, materials, and equipment.
+ Coordinates medical staff credentialing processes in collaboration with the Medical Director, ensuring regulatory and bylaw compliance.
+ Administers and monitors service contracts (e.g., pharmacy, radiology, laboratory) and ensures alignment with CMS and third-party payer agreements.
+ Develops marketing and growth strategies to elevate service awareness and increase patient volume.
+ Oversees recruitment, training, development, and performance management for all personnel.
+ Ensures full compliance with state and federal regulations, including HIPAA, and safeguards patient and staff confidentiality.
+ Performs additional duties as assigned and ensures adherence to all internal policies and procedures.
Qualifications
+ Bachelor's Degree in Health Administration, Business Administration, Management, or related field required.
+ Master’s Degree in Health Administration, Business Administration, Management, or related field preferred.
+ 7–9 years of leadership experience in an ambulatory surgery or hospital setting required.
+ Proven experience in ASC operations, including quality, regulatory, and financial management.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
+ Deep understanding of ASC operations, CMS guidelines, AAAHC, Joint Commission standards, and HIPAA.
+ Strong leadership, communication, and staff management skills.
+ Proficiency in budgeting, data analysis, and healthcare performance metrics.
+ Ability to navigate complex regulatory environments and lead quality and compliance initiatives.
+ Competence in healthcare software and Microsoft Office Suite.
+ Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
