    Posting Description

    TECHNICAL ASSOCIATE, Institute for Medical Engineering and Science, to join our interdisciplinary team focused on identifying novel antibodies through single B-cell sorting and improving/modifying their binding affinities via in vitro antibody maturation. Will perform laboratory research involving molecular cloning, protein expression and purification, and measurements of protein-protein binding affinities; apply methods including maintenance of cultured cells, DNA purification, DNA transfection, and protein characterization using gel filtration chromatography; collect and analyze experimental data using statistical software; improve protocols and present data at lab meetings; maintain inventories of common lab supplies; serve as laboratory Safety Officer, ensuring compliance with safety protocols, preparing for inspections, correcting deficiencies, and managing biohazard waste disposal; monitor long-term storage of biologicals in liquid nitrogen; and may co-author research articles and manuscripts.     Job Requirements

    REQUIRED: Bachelor’s degree in a field related to biology, chemistry or bioengineering; a minimum of two years of experimental laboratory experience (which may include experience gained as an undergraduate.); experience with sterile technique and cell culture; excellent communications skills and the ability to work productively as a member of a team; robust organizational and critical thinking skills with attention to detail, self-direction, motivation, and an ability to respond to a rapidly evolving work environment involving concurrent projects and responsibilities.
