Role
We are looking for a Storage Engineer to join our Cloud Infrastructure Storage team who is passionate about cloud infrastructure and is excited to build a career in enterprise data storage. In this role, you’ll work alongside a global team of experienced engineers to support and grow our storage platforms across multiple regions, ensuring the scale, performance, and reliability of the ServiceNow storage fleet meets and exceeds requirements. What you get to do in this role
+ Oversee the daily operational health of the global storage environment, including monitoring, troubleshooting, and resolving issues.
+ Deploy and manage a worldwide fleet of storage systems to meet performance and capacity needs.
+ Collaborate with internal teams and vendor support to achieve timely resolutions.
+ Monitor to ensure that all storage capacity, reliability, and performance needs can be met on schedule.
+ Collaborate with multiple technical teams, including storage vendor support teams, to resolve issues and create new efficiencies.
+ Proactively identify and implement improvements in processes, procedures, and technologies to enhance efficiency and reliability.
+ Stay current with emerging storage technologies and trends, applying new insights to the environment.
+ Partner with more senior engineers to grow your expertise in modern storage technologies.
+ Lead or contribute to strategic projects, such as storage migrations, capacity planning, and system upgrades.
+ Actively contribute to documentation, ensuring processes and technical standards are clearly defined and consistently updated.
To be successful in this role you have
+ Experience in leveraging or critically thinking about how to integrate AI into work processes, decision-making, or problem-solving. This may include using AI-powered tools, automating workflows, analyzing AI-driven insights, or exploring AI's potential impact on the function or industry.
+ 2 years of related experience with Bachelor's degree; or and Advanced degree without experience; or equivalent work experience in enterprise storage engineering and operations within complex environments.
+ Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex storage issues.
+ Good understanding and knowledge of storage protocols (e.g., NFS, iSCSI, NVMe/NVMeoF) and enterprise-class storage hardware (e.g., Dell, Pure, HP, NetApp).
+ Good understanding of supporting technologies, including:
+ Networking fundamentals and architecture.
+ Server platforms and virtualization (e.g., VMware ESXi).
+ Linux systems administration (e.g., CentOS, Ubuntu, Red Hat).
+ Excellent communication, time management, organizational and interpersonal skills.
+ Ability to effectively collaborate with technical and non-technical teams.
+ Strong documentation skills with with a commitment to documentation and process improvement.
+ Ability to learn new technologies and modify existing processes and procedures as needed.
+ Commitment to quality of work and attention to detail.
+ A proactive mindset, with the ability to learn new technologies and adapt to a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
+ Team-oriented attitude, with a focus on collaboration and driving results as a group.
Preferred Qualifications
+ Experience managing storage environments at scale (e.g., multi-datacenter, petabyte-level storage).
+ Hands-on experience with object storage solutions or cloud-native storage technologies.
+ Familiarity with automation and scripting (e.g., Python, PowerShell) to improve operational efficiency.
For positions in this location, we offer a base pay of $95,900 - $148,700, plus equity (when applicable), variable/incentive compensation and benefits. Sales positions generally offer a competitive On Target Earnings (OTE) incentive compensation structure. Please note that the base pay shown is a guideline, and individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies, and work location. We also offer health plans, including flexible spending accounts, a 401(k) Plan with company match, ESPP, matching donations, a flexible time away plan and family leave programs. Compensation is based on the geographic location in which the role is located and is subject to change based on work location.
