    Seeking a Phlebotomy Supervisor at New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington, NC!

     

    Work Schedule: 8:00am – 5:00pm

     

    Department: Phlebotomy

     

    Phlebotomy Supervisor

     

    + Responsible for performing all collection procedures.

    + Ensures and monitors Phlebotomy staff for quality, productivity, and efficiency.

    + Responsible for scheduling staff, staff performance evaluations and ensuring policies and procedures are followed.

    + They will advise and assist in the orientation and training of other personnel on equipment and software, as necessary.

    + They will also oversee lab operations for a department with HR (Human Resources) responsibilities.

    Qualifications

    + Education: High School Diploma or GED, required. 2 Year / Associate Degree, preferred.

    + Experience: Five years of relevant phlebotomy and/or leadership experience, preferred.

    + Licensure/Certification: Certification by ASCP, ASPT, AMT or NHA, required.

    + Additional Skills (required): Knowledge of current medical terminology to perform full range of laboratory tasks. Knowledge of medical terminology to communicate with medical staff regarding laboratory procedures and results. Skill in anticipating and reacting calmly to emergency situations. Skill in developing and maintaining department quality assurance. Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, hospital staff and the public. Ability to follow written protocols. Ability to work independently. Ability to communicate clearly.
