    The Compression Systems Engineering (CSE) organization is looking for a highly motivated engineer to become a central member of CSE’s Safety/Investigations Team. The team ensures focus on Commercial and Military engine safety-related issues and safety-related read across. The position requires technical knowledge of compression systems hardware, good engineering judgement, system level thinking ability and strong interpersonal skills. Safety/Investigations engineers play a critical role by working with CIPT’s and IPT’s to ensure that read-across issues are clearly understood and completed consistently; that safety issues are identified, quantified, and appropriately communicated; and that necessary corrective actions are working and tracked. The Safety/Investigation Engineers also aid in maintaining focus on key field investigations and integrating learning across all CIPT’s within CSE as well as MPE, the Flight Safety Office, and other organizations outside CSE.

    What You Will Do

    + Engineer will work with CIPTs to resolve safety issues

    + Engineer will participate in key root cause investigations and lead the development of hazard assessment and safety risk assessments

    + Engineer will manage CSE safety read across items

    + Engineer will develop and maintain a management / tracking system, including driving process enhancements to the read across process

    + Engineer will work to integrate with the Engineering Product Integrity group and drive the safety culture in CSE

    + Travel at 10% required

    Qualifications You Must Have

    + Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) with 8+ years of relevant experience OR

    + Advanced degree with 5+ years of relevant experience

    + U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

    Qualifications We Prefer

    + Familiarity with Compression Systems components and hardware, including Rotating Hardware experience in a technical role

    + Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated effectiveness in working across disciplines, organizations, and all levels of management

    + Superior leadership skills

    + Excellent organizational skills

    + Prior experience working in the read across process

    Compression Systems Engineering (CSE)

     

    Compression Systems Engineering is responsible for the design, development, and in service support of all fans low-pressure and high-pressure compressors for commercial and military engine models. CSE is responsible for the identification and maturation of new technologies for these products.

     

    Technical disciplines in CSE include Project Engineering, Mechanical Design, Structural Analysis, and Product Definition.

     

    What is my role type?

    **Onsite** : Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.

     

    Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee’s personal responsibility.

     

    The salary range for this role is 101,000 USD - 203,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.

     

    RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

    This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
