Position Overview
**POWER your future with Qualus** as a Proposal Specialist in our Program Management organization. This role will work closely with our Business Development and Operational Leaders to support proposal development for work being awarded by our clients in the utility, oil and gas, and industrial sectors.We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Proposal Specialist to join our team. As a Proposal Specialist you will play a crucial role in our organization by managing the tendering process from start to finish, including sole source customer requests to formal Requests for Proposals (RFP)/Quotes (RFQ).
Responsibilities
Your primary responsibility will be to work closely with our sales team to evaluate the request, manage the response development activities, prepare proposal materials, oversee the timely submission of the proposals, and provide oversight and tracking of all bids and proposals for projects, contracts, and procurement opportunities. You will work closely with a variety of departments to ensure the successful and timely preparation and submission of each tender opportunity.
This position is remote and will have the ability to work from home when you are not traveling onsite to customer locations.
Responsibilities:
+ Receive and assess new tender opportunities and initiate the response activities with the appropriate Qualus team member
+ Manage and coordinate the completion of all commercial response requirements by the appropriate team, including review of terms and conditions, insurance requirements, cyber security questionnaires, etc.
+ Produce professional, timely proposals for revenue-generating activity
+ Ability to re-write / edit proposal responses after review from stakeholders
+ Proactively work with a network of subject matter experts translating input from stakeholders to create effective proposals
+ Ability to understand an RFP or customer requirements and along with general knowledge of Qualus and Qualus service offerings, coordinate a formal response
+ Create project pricing and perform cash flow analyses to ensure positive cash flow for project life cycle while collaborating with multiple teams to develop accurate cost estimates for RFPs
+ Conduct market research and analysis to identify potential opportunities, assess market conditions, and evaluate competitors.
+ Develop repository of content and material for consistent use in various tenders.
Project Management
+ Coordinate all aspects of the proposal management process from beginning to end including assisting with negotiations with clients, bid tracking and post award activities.
+ Plan proposal project schedules, managing each response as an individual project with task assignments
+ Leverage technology and innovate methods to manage proposal responses, including task management, document storage, and collaboration
Communications
+ Ability to communicate and influence effectively at a senior level
+ Provide regular status updates to the stakeholders on the progress, needs, and assignments of proposal activity
+ Build relationships with stakeholders who contribute to proposal responses
Leadership
+ Take a leadership role and coordinating and managing the priorities for response development from the various subject matter experts.
Skills
+ Superior technical writing skills, including the ability to produce creative original documentation
+ Must possess effective delegation and time management skills, coordinating numerous simultaneous proposals and deadlines
+ Excellent attention to detail and recall of previously generated content for future proposals
+ Basic understanding of the financial component of business, including calculation of margin, project pricing, cash flow, billing milestones
+ Clear communicator with excellent presentation skills
+ Advanced Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint, Project & proficient in other aspects of Office
+ Strong understanding of the Proposal process including legal and compliance aspects
+ Be flexible to adjust focus when necessary, working in an environment of deadlines and the potential for changing priorities
Qualifications
+ Minimum of 5 years of experience in proposal management, proposal writing, or technical writing for consulting services
+ Preferred knowledge of the electric utility industry
+ Bachelor of Arts degree in English, Communications, Journalism, Marketing
+ Preferred Master’s degree in English or Communications with certificate in Technical Writing
+ Preferred member Association of Proposal Management Professionals (APMP)
The expected compensation range for this position is based upon several factors, including but not limited to education, qualifications, prior relevant work experience and work location.
**Compensation:** $$58,622.10 - $102,588.10
