    What does this role look like?

     

    Join the team that creates Wire Harness and Cable Design for space applications\! The team supports multiple lines of business at Lockheed Martin which means you could be designing packaging systems for the next mission to Mars or the next generation of GPS satellites\.

     

    You will work in a hybrid, geographically dispersed, interactive environment\. We partner with industry leading suppliers to develop new components and technologies across the wire, connector, and wiring accessories product lines\. We support our product designs at fabrication in various harness shops and we support at installation in across various spacecraft assembly sites\.

    Key activities you will accomplish in this role:

    • Wire harness/cable logical schematic design and the 3D physical routing design\. Our engineers begin developing the wiring designs from the research, conceptual, and layout phase then end with supporting assembly, installation, and some aftermarket sustainment\.

    • Collaborate with subsystem, survivability, environmental, and other specialty engineers to develop unique cables for various space products\.

    To be effective in this role, you will need:

    • Experience in using the Zuken E3 schematic/cabling drafting tool \(or similar\) and Creo 3D modeling tool \(or similar\) centered in model based engineering\.

    • Experience in presenting to leadership and customers in design reviews and technical interchange meetings\.

    • 14\+ years of professional experience with a Bachelor's; or 12\+ years of professional experience with a Master's degree\.

    Basic Qualifications:

    • Prior electrical and mechanical design and checking experience

    • Prior CAD, CREO, or ZUKEN E3 experience

    • US Citizenship, as this position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance\.

    Desired Skills:

    • Must be a US Citizen; this position will require the ability to obtain government security clearance\.

    • Past experience as harness designer, preferably spacecraft or missile programs

    • Past experience as harness checker

    • Familiarity with Data Set Ratings

    **Ability to Work Remotely:** Part\-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility\. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process\.

    **Work Schedules:** Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees\. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed\. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits\.

    **Schedule for this Position:** Part\-Time as assigned by leader

    **Pay Rate:** The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York \(excluding most major metropolitan areas\), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Washington or Washington DC is $128,400 \- $226,435\. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location\. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only\. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as \(but not limited to\) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer\.

    **Benefits offered:** Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short\-Term Disability, Long\-Term Disability, 401\(k\) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays\.

     

    \(Washington state applicants only\) Non\-represented full\-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off \(PTO\) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays\. Represented full time employees accrue 6\.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays\. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year\.

     

    This position is incentive plan eligible\.

     

    **Pay Rate:** The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California and New York is $147,700 \- $255,990\. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location\. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only\. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as \(but not limited to\) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer\.
