    Summary

    This individual will prep heavy equipment and parts for paint.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    + Scrape, sandpaper, prime, or seal surfaces, per specifications, prior to painting

    + Clean all surfaces to ensure proper adherence

    + Cover surfaces with cloth or plastic to ensure protection

    + Fill cracks, holes, and joints per specifications

    + Erect scaffolding, movable, and immovable staging and various rigging to gain access to difficult areas

    + Work on ladders to reach top of tall equipment

    + Tape off areas when needed

    + Clean up all equipment

    Required Skills and Qualifications

    + Must be able to troubleshoot problems

    + Candidate must work well with others

    + Requires strong attention to detail in department processes and procedures

    + Requires the ability to comprehend and follow written work instructions

    + Possess knowledge of and ability to identify fabrication industry metals

    + Strong orientation towards quality, safety and continual improvement.

    Preferred Skills and Qualifications

    + Two plus years of related automotive or vocational truck operation and maintenance experience

    + Strong communication skills

    + Proven commitment to Safety

    Working Conditions

    + Majority of work is performed in a shop and outside

    + Must be able to work while exposed to bright lights, extreme temperatures, loud noise, dust, gas and/or other fumes

    + Must be able to work overtime as needed

    Physical Requirements

    + Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; some climbing and balancing on ladders and platforms of heights above 42”, significant stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling throughout a 10-hour day, and up to 50 hours per week

    + Must be able to safely operate carts, forklifts, hand trucks, and other equipment of such nature

    + Ability to walk and stand on concrete and/or uneven surfaces for at least 10 hours per day
