    Introduction

     

    IBM’s aircraft maintenance department is an FAA certified repair station which only maintains IBM’s aircraft. The team consists of technicians, a crew chief per airplane, chief inspector, lead technician and a manager. Our team performs in-house inspections, preventative maintenance, repairs, budgets, and plans external maintenance, line services, shipping and receiving of parts and materials, and flight technician duties. Our normal shift is Monday through Friday from 7 to 3:30PM and we flex to cover nights. Everyone is usually assigned 1 weekend per month, but it can vary depending on the workload.

     

    IBM’s team members are a tight knit group of highly skilled, highly trained, self-motivated, collaborative members that are always looking for ways to improve the processes, themselves and the team.

     

    Your role and responsibilities

     

    Hiring manager and Recruiter should collaborate to create the relevant verbiage.

     

    A technician is responsible for performing the required maintenance, preventive maintenance, and inspections to always keep the fleet of aircraft airworthy. The technician also moves aircraft, fuels aircraft, and assists with baggage. A technician must complete the required documentation, and after receiving the Chief Inspector’s approval, he/she will return the aircraft back to service. A technician must comply with all regulatory requirements which are imposed upon him/her from all regulating agencies. The Technician reports to the Maintenance Manage and is supervised by the Lead Technicians and Chief Inspector.

     

    The Technician could work different shifts (morning, days, afternoons, and nights) on both weekdays and weekends plus holidays. Some traveling is required, and the Technician must have a valid passport or be eligible to obtain one.

    Required technical and professional expertise

    • A technician holds a valid Airframe and Powerplant license with a minimum of 5 years’ experience on the same type of aircraft or equivalent aircraft as we operate.

    • The technician must have airframe, engine, avionic, cabin and communication system knowledge, be able to "read" wring diagrams, troubleshoot any installed system on the aircraft.

    • Have experience with maintenance tracking programs (work orders, inventory, and maintenance tracking) such as CAMP and CMP.

    • The technician must be a great team member with strong communication skills as well as strong computer skills to work with software such as Microsoft Word and Excel.

    • They must be able to lift 50 pounds, work on ladders, lifts, stand, and heights of 30 plus feet. Confined space work is required.
