Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Principal Cloud Engineer to lead the design and implementation of a scalable, secure, and efficient AWS cloud environment that can be utilized across our large banking organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cloud architecture and a proven track record of deploying enterprise-level solutions in AWS.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement a robust AWS cloud infrastructure that supports the specific needs of a large banking organization.

• Ensure the cloud environment adheres to all regulatory and compliance requirements specific to the banking industry.

• Collaborate with IT security teams to implement and maintain security protocols and tools to protect sensitive data and systems.

• Develop automation scripts and tools to streamline cloud operations and reduce human error.

• Provide technical leadership and guidance to cloud engineering teams, ensuring best practices in scalability, availability, and resilience.

• Work closely with application development teams to facilitate the migration of legacy systems to the cloud.

• Monitor cloud usage and performance, making recommendations for optimizing resources and reducing costs.

• Stay current with new technologies and cloud trends, evaluating their applicability to business goals and operational requirements.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in IT infrastructure and cloud engineering, with at least 5 years focused on AWS environments.

Preferred Skills/Experience:

• Strong understanding of AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, IAM, and others.

• Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.

• Proficient in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.

• Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools (CI/CD, Jenkins, Git, etc.).

• Familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, etc.).

• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.

• Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional teams.

_The role offers a hybrid/flexible schedule, which means there's an in-office expectation of 3 or more days per week and the flexibility to work outside the office location for the other days._

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $194,225.00 - $228,500.00 - $251,350.00
