**BayCare** is seeking an experienced **Pool/PRN** **Speech Therapist** to join our dedicated team at **BayCare Alliant Hospital** , a Long-Term Acute Care Hospital (LTACH). The ideal candidate will have specialized skills in **Fiberoptic Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing (FEES)** and **Modified Barium Swallow Studies (MBS)** , as well as a strong background in the diagnosis and treatment of complex swallowing and communication disorders. This position offers a unique opportunity to work with critically ill and medically complex patients in an interdisciplinary environment. **BayCare Alliant Hospital** is licensed as a 48-bed long term acute care specialty hospital and accredited by The Joint Commission. Alliant Hospital provides extended acute care services to patients requiring a longer period of time for medical treatment and recovery. As a “hospital within a hospital,” we offer 24-hour easy accessibility to emergency room physicians, diagnostic testing, radiology, laboratory and surgical services

Speech Therapist Pool Responsibilities:

+ **Assessment and Diagnosis** : Conduct comprehensive evaluations of speech, language, swallowing, and cognitive-communication disorders in patients with a variety of conditions.

+ **Fiberoptic Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing (FEES)** : Perform and interpret FEES assessments to evaluate swallowing function. Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to provide recommendations and feeding strategies based on the FEES results.

+ **Modified Barium Swallow Studies (MBS)** : Conduct MBS assessments in collaboration with radiologists to assess the anatomy and physiology of the swallowing process. Provide detailed clinical reports based on findings and make treatment recommendations to enhance patient safety and reduce the risk of aspiration.

+ **Collaborative Care** : Work closely with physicians, nurses, dietitians, and other allied health professionals to develop comprehensive, patient-centered treatment plans.

+ **Patient Education** : Educate patients and their families on swallowing techniques, diet modifications, and communication strategies to ensure continued improvement and safety in the home environment. Provide guidance on how to minimize risks of aspiration and choking.

+ **Documentation** : Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, documenting evaluations, treatment plans, progress, and any changes in patient status. Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and hospital policies.

Requirements:

+ CCC-SLP (Speech Language Pathology)

+ BLS (Basic Life Support)

+ Speech Therapy License

+ Required Master's Speech Therapy

+ Preferred Doctorate Speech Therapy

+ 1 year Clinical Related is preferred
