The In Plant Finishing Operator 1 position exists to provide exceptional services and skills in the area of finishing. Requires ability to setup, operate and maintain complex bindery, finishing and mailing equipment and allows for quality timely output of print related goods. Level 1 requires complete knowledge in the setup, operation and maintenance of one large piece of finishing equipment and supporting knowledge for other large and small pieces of equipment. Level 1 qualified machines: Halm Jet offset envelop press, MBO Folder, Cutter, Flowmaster Inserter, PTI
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
+ Maintains quality and production standards in accordance with company policies and procedures
+ Possesses thorough working knowledge inclusive of Make-Ready, Run, and maintenance requirements on all specified equipment
+ Sets up, operates and adjusts equipment, and meets established production standards regularly
+ Observes and monitors machine operations to detect malfunctions
+ Continually monitors quality of finished product per established QC guidelines
+ Insures work area is free of hazards and clean of debris
+ Follows all required safety procedures and communicates all concerns regarding safety to department manager
+ Completes paperwork to assure proper job counts along with job track ability
+ Is responsible for accurate time keeping and data collection through the MIS system
+ Involves department Supervisor and/or department Manager anytime concerns exist relative to quality, schedules, delays, etc.
+ Reads and understands the Job “Work Order" for instructions and specifications specific to the manufacturing of a job. Produces all jobs according to the specifications and instructions within the Work Order
+ Completes production timekeeping records (Data Collection) via Accura RDC inclusive of logging time against the proper activity codes, quantity produced, and materials where applicable
Other Duties/Responsibilities:
+ Performs reasonable repairs and maintenance as needed
+ Assists in assigning work and machines when required
+ Provides clear communication in the assisting of training and encouraging the growth of other staff members
+ Performs other duties as assigned
Working Environment/Physical Requirements:
+ Must be able to pass a Post Offer Prehire Physical exam
+ Noise from various mail/material-handling machines
+ Dust associated with mail and packing materials
+ Lifting and carrying of material up to 50 pounds
+ Must be able to push/pull 50lbs
+ Must be able to stand all day
+ Must be able to bend, crouch, squat, crawl, kneel, balance, and reach above head
+ Requires repetitive tasks/motions, good eye-hand-foot coordination, and good manual dexterity
+ Must be able to hear alarms/phone/tape recorder/normal speaking voice

Knowledge/Experience:
+ High School Diploma or equivalent
+ 5+ years of experience in one or more of the following: Halm Jet Press, MBO Folders,
+ 45+” Cutters, Flowmaster inserters and other Print related equipment. Knowledge and
+ ability with multiple machines preferred
+ Must have the necessary machine skills too effectively and efficiency operate all specified equipment
Skills, Abilities, and Special Talents/Gifts:
+ Ability to prioritize and organize workflow in accordance with manufacturing and shipping constraints
+ Ability to work autonomously
+ Requires ability to read, write, use simple arithmetic, follow instructions, keep simple records, and make basic computer inputs/inquiries
+ Requires coordination sufficient to operate various manufacturing equipment
+ Ability to function in a team environment with ability to encourage other team members
+ Quick learner, not easily distracted
+ Ability to communicate and write effectively with expression
Pay Range: $16.00 to $18.25
