    DESCRIPTION

    We are looking for a talented Electronic Systems Technical Specialist - Software to join our team specializing in Engineering in Plymouth, MI.

    In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

    + **Problem Resolution** : You'll investigate software issues, understand their root causes, recommend actions, and document results, ensuring smooth and efficient problem-solving.

    + **Mentorship** : You'll review the work of less-experienced developers and testers, ensuring robust, reusable, and efficient designs, and providing valuable guidance.

    + **Leadership** : You'll independently lead smaller projects or complex components, taking full accountability and navigating ambiguity with confidence.

    + **Process Development** : You'll lead the development and improvement of work processes and systems across functions, driving innovation and efficiency within the global business unit.

    + **Knowledge Transfer** : By coordinating work among technicians and temporary employees, and assisting in knowledge transfer to less experienced engineers, you'll foster a collaborative and growth-oriented environment.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    To be successful in this role you will need the following:

    + **Technical Expertise** : Develop a deep understanding of product failure modes, modeling, simulation, and analysis techniques to predict and mitigate potential issues, ensuring reliable and high-quality products.

    + **Architectural Planning** : Create and maintain a holistic product platform, performing trade-off analysis and collaborating with stakeholders to ensure balanced and optimal designs that align with market needs.

    + **Software Engineering** : Apply industry best practices and robust software engineering principles to construct and verify software updates, ensuring the delivery of quality products.

    + **Verification and Validation** : Develop and manage validation plans, negotiate requirements, and evaluate test results to verify product capabilities and validate requirements, guiding project scope and decisions.

    + **Requirements Engineering** : Translate stakeholder needs into verifiable requirements, establish acceptance criteria, track requirements throughout the lifecycle, and assess the impact of changes on project scope, schedule, and resources.

    + **Systems Thinking** : Define and analyze the system of interest, understanding its context, interfaces, and lifecycle to predict behavior and devise modifications for desired outcomes.

    + **Communication and Collaboration** : Build effective networks inside and outside the organization, communicate clearly with different audiences, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to influence technical direction and project success.

    + **Leadership and Decision Making** : Make timely and quality decisions, drive results under tough circumstances, manage complexity, and deploy resources efficiently while valuing diverse perspectives and fostering a collaborative environment.

    Education, Licenses, Certifications:

    + College, university, or equivalent Bachelor's degree in Engineering or appropriate STEM field is required.

    + Post-graduate (Master's) degree relevant to this discipline area may be required for select roles.

    + This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

    Experience:

    + Prior Senior or Lead Engineer equivalent work experience in a relevant discipline area is required with a demonstrated track record of technical problem solving and quality decision making.

    + Knowledge of MS Office tools is preferred

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Additional Information:

    + Individual will be primarily responsible for supporting Aftertreatment Controls Integration on Non-CMI engine applications to meet EPA 2027 regulations.

    + Gain proficiency in Aftertreatment Software (AT) controls and diagnostic features to provide inputs to customer during their calibration development exercise and enable them to be successful in meeting AT performance design targets.

    + Investigate and troubleshoot correctness of software behavior using customer provided data to identify root cause for system malfunctions.

    + Engage closely with A/T SW calibration engineers during troubleshooting of control system hardware failures in test cell and help devise short term mitigation actions.

    + Support and actively participate with Test team to schedule and run bench tests for troubleshooting suspected software defects.

    + Masters in Electrical/Mechanical/Computer Science Engineering preferred.

    **Job Skill Requirements** :

    + Control systems and Algorithms, System Electronic Controls, Matlab-Simulink, Embedded Software development tools, C programing language, experience with Failure Analysis & Investigation and in Product/Software Development Life Cycle activities.

    + Be able to use diagnostics tools such as CALTERM, Vector.

    + Be able to read wiring diagrams to troubleshoot.

    + AutoSAR proficiency preferred

    Compensation:

    Please note that the salary range provided is a good faith estimate on the applicable range. The final salary offer will be determined after considering relevant factors, including a candidate’s qualifications and experience, where appropriate.
