    Description

    Copeland is hiring a **Manufacturing Execution System (MES) Engineer** in **St. Louis, MO** to lead process improvements across multiple manufacturing sites, with a focus on manufacturing operations management systems. You'll support data-driven continuous improvement by designing, implementing, and maintaining Manufacturing Execution Systems—while ensuring safety, quality, cost, and delivery targets are met. Experience with controls and manufacturing IT is a plus. This role also supports project management and process improvements across Copeland Electronics and Controls facilities, contract manufacturers, and suppliers.

    As an Advanced Manufacturing Engineer, YOU WILL:

    + Collaborate with global Copeland manufacturing sites and enterprise IT to understand needs, gather requirements, and deliver sustainable MES solutions.

    + Develop, configure, and maintain MES systems to support production execution, data tracking, and integration with ERP, PLC/SCADA automation, and quality/lab systems.

    + Work with cross-functional teams to translate requirements into MES specifications, and support system validation, documentation, and change control processes.

    + Provide technical support and troubleshooting for MES issues, create user guides, and conduct training sessions for plant personnel.

    + Analyze production data to identify inefficiencies, recommend improvements, and drive enhancements in process capability (Cpk), OEE, quality, cost, delivery, and safety.

    + Lead project teams across manufacturing engineering, planning, procurement, quality, operations, and suppliers; use financial analysis to estimate labor savings and justify project costs.

    + Implement lean production principles to improve material flow, support capacity growth and equipment installs, and partner with automation and test engineering teams to develop industrial automation systems and data standards.

    REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCES & SKILLS:

    + Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.

    + 2+ years of experience in data analysis and IT (including co-op/internship), with the ability to apply systems and data expertise in a manufacturing environment.

    + knowledge of MES platforms (e.g., Aegis FactoryLogix, TrakSYS, Ignition, Siemens Opcenter, Rockwell FactoryTalk, GE Proficy) and manufacturing systems integration and industrial automation technologies.

    + Proficiency in database technologies (e.g., SQL, Oracle) and programming/scripting languages such as JavaScript, Python, or C#.

    + Familiarity with Industry 4.0 concepts, digital manufacturing initiatives, and the application of smart technologies in production environments.

    + Strong analytical, communication, and project management skills, with experience using Business Intelligence tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Sigma.

    + Ability to travel up to 20%, including international travel.

    PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCES & SKILLS

    + 5+ years’ experience as a process/manufacturing engineer

    + Working knowledge of statistical process control and OEE concepts

    + Programming experience with Python, MATLAB, C++, Java, Ladder Logic, LabVIEW and robotic programming

    + Knowledge of using manufacturing data with AI to enable immediate data-driven actions for real-time process optimization and decision-making

    Collaboration First Hybrid Work Arrangements:

    This role is hybrid eligible with the requirement to be in office at least three days per week. Colleagues are expected to demonstrate a collaboration first mindset, which is the understanding that teams will work together in-person and colleagues should be flexible to adjust their hybrid days based on business needs. You will have an opportunity to work with your team and leader to determine when you should be in office to drive meaningful connections and to best serve our customers.
