Description

Amazon’s Privacy Legal team is looking for a talented attorney with privacy experience to advise on policies and practices for the collection, storage, and use of personal information across all of the company’s business lines.

Responsibilities will include working closely with business leaders, legal teams, and our public policy team to advise on all aspects of global privacy laws and regulations. As a subject-matter expert, you’ll help chart the company’s long term strategy for handling customer information associated with our retail operations, online advertising activities, electronic devices, and other business areas, as well as work directly with teams that are implementing privacy infrastructure for Amazon and its subsidiaries. You will also consult directly with lawyers and business leaders throughout the company and its subsidiaries to help shape the development of innovative new products and services and to implement new or evolving data protection regulation, including regulation relating to children and teens. And you’ll work closely with our public policy, public relations, and other teams to help explain our policies and practices to regulators and customers.

About the team

The Central Privacy Legal team oversees, organizes and drives legal privacy initiatives across Amazon,​ and serves​​ as subject matter expert on customer-related privacy issues across Amazon.

Basic Qualifications

- 5+ years of legal experience

- Juris Doctor and membership in one state bar or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience working cross-functionally, including being a strong partner to other lawyers and business clients

- Familiarity with data protection laws in the U.S. or globally, including those pertaining to children or teens
