Description
The Emerging Country Network Topology Planning team is looking for a talented Supply Chain Optimization and Business Intelligence Manager who will support in launching and adopting supply chain analytics and optimization solutions which will help scientifically approach the multi-year and multi-echelon network topology design process. Team scope includes emerging countries Long term Network Topology and strategic planning for Mexico, Brazil, Australia, Middle East, Turkey, South Africa, Singapore and new countries. As a team player you have an opportunity to work with some of the best Supply Chain professionals, Engineering teams, Product managers, and business leaders across the continents to design optimal Supply Chain network solutions with an objective to solve the conflicting objectives and achieve best customer experience in the most cost efficient way.
This position requires advanced analytical and critical thinking skills and the ability to extract data from multiple sources and develop complex data analytics. Successful candidates will be adept at diving deep through various information sources, and working closely with technology partners, local/regional operations, and finance teams to rapidly iterate and deliver solutions. Successful candidates must thrive in fast-paced environments which encourage collaborative and creative problem solving and critical thinking.
The ideal candidates will have an excellent acumen and judgment, curiosity, strong technical skills, and written and verbal communication skills. They will have a strong bias towards data driven decision-making. They will be a self-starter, comfortable with ambiguity, able to think and be creative (while paying careful attention to detail). They will enjoy working in a fast-paced dynamic environment.
Key job responsibilities
- Own and execute Business Intelligence and analytical solutions and execute scenario analysis for network planning.
- Lead BI Solutions for complex problems, communicates effectively with management audience (e.g. narratives, inputs, bridge analysis).
- Identify best practices used in other countries for the supply chain optimization process and bridge the gap by adopting or developing similar capabilities for emerging countries.
- Thought leadership on data mining and analysis, develop efficient data querying and modeling infrastructure, ensuring data quality throughout all stages of acquisition and processing, including such areas as data sourcing/collection, normalization, transformation etc.
- Defining, developing and maintaining critical business and operational reports/dashboards reviewed on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
- Analysis of historical data to identify trends and support decision making, including written and verbal presentation of results and recommendations.
- Collaborating with technical teams to implement analytics systems, technical solutions with an appropriate analytics strategy and data set design.
- Identifying and understanding data needs and data resources - which to use, how, and when, along with mining and manipulating data from those data resources and driving data quality improvement projects
- Gather requirements and work backwards those to design analytical solutions to solve business needs, while translating business questions and concerns into specific analytical questions that can be answered with available data using BI tools; produce the required data when it is not available.
- Create end-to-end analytical solutions (i.e. Datasets, data pipelines, dashboards, process automation, etc.) using technologies such as Redshift, Datanet, Quicksight, Cradle, SQL, Python, etc.
About the team
The Emerging Country Network Planning team works to optimize multi-year network topology design, along with Supply Chain planning processes for new country expansion. Our scope includes emerging countries such as Mexico, Brazil, Australia, Middle East, Turkey, South Africa, Singapore, with more to come with further international expansion.
Basic Qualifications
- 7+ years of business intelligence and analytics experience
- 5+ years of delivering results managing a business intelligence or analytics team, including employee development and performance management experience
- Experience with SQL
- Experience with ETL
- Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools
- Experience with R, Python, Weka, SAS, Matlab or other statistical/machine learning software
Preferred Qualifications
- 4+ years of working with very large data warehousing environment experience
- 10+ years of data warehouse technical architectures, data modeling, infrastructure components, ETL/ ELT and reporting/analytic tools and environments, data structures and hands-on SQL coding experience

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,100/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
