    The Boston Children's Hospital Inpatient Psychiatry Service (IPS) Waltham, is a 12-bed, secure inpatient psychiatric unit located in the west wing of the main building, known as 5 West, Waltham, IPS. This unit is licensed by the Massachusetts Dept. of Public Health.

    Key Responsibilities:

    + Psychosocial assessment for children and adolescents ages 8 to 17

    + Counseling and crisis intervention

    + Facilitation of the use of hospital and community services

    + Resource information and referral, and program development

    + Psychosocial consultation to multidisciplinary team

    Minimum Qualifications

    Education:

    + Master’s degree in social work

    Experience:

    + One year of social work experience preferred,

    + Previous experience with treatment of youth with physical illnesses who also have emotional and/or behavioral challenges preferred

    + Flexibility and ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

    + Excellent communication skills are necessary

    + Diverse candidates encouraged to apply

    Licensure/Certifications:

    + LCSW in the state of MA required. LICSW licensure in state of MA preferred
