Description We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Assistant Controller to join our team in Los Angeles, California. This role is pivotal in maintaining the integrity of financial operations and ensuring compliance with all reporting requirements. As a key leader in the accounting department, you will oversee critical aspects of financial management, mentor staff, and support the organization’s fiscal goals.
Responsibilities:
• Provide mentorship and training to accounting staff to maintain high-performance standards in financial and accounting tasks.
• Present financial data and insights to staff and management, ensuring clear communication of key information.
• Oversee complex account reconciliations, including investment funds and accrual balances, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Prepare and review general ledger expense allocations, journal entries, and account reconciliations while adhering to internal controls.
• Assist in the preparation of annual operating and capital budgets, tracking variances between budgeted and actual figures.
• Manage treasury functions, including wire transfers, and maintain effective relationships with banking and investment partners.
• Support the Controller during annual audits, insurance renewals, and compliance with federal and state tax reporting.
• Supervise the corporate credit card program and ensure efficient handling of related processes.
• Collaborate on technology-related initiatives to enhance reporting and process automation.
• Identify and implement process improvements to achieve greater efficiency and scalability in financial operations. Requirements
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or financial management roles.
• Proficiency in accounting software systems, including experience with ADP and Concur.
• Strong knowledge of accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), and general accounting principles.
• Demonstrated expertise in preparing financial statements and conducting audits.
• Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Strong analytical, verbal, and written communication skills.
