Description We are looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team in Thornton, Colorado. This is a long-term contract position where you will be responsible for managing various aspects of accounts payable processes, ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of vendor payments. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the full-cycle accounts payable process, including matching invoices with purchase orders and obtaining approvals for non-PO invoices.

• Reconcile invoices against purchase orders using an automated accounts payable workflow system.

• Process vendor payments and address any issues in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.

• Set up new vendors and maintain accurate vendor master records.

• Handle employee expense reports, ensuring compliance with company policies.

• Reconcile vendor statements and promptly resolve any discrepancies.

• Accurately apply sales and use tax rates when required.

• Respond to inquiries from vendors and internal teams, providing timely and accurate information.

• Support internal and external audit processes by providing necessary documentation and data.

• Perform other related duties as assigned. Requirements • Strong understanding of accounts payable processes, including account coding and reconciliation.

• Proficiency in using accounting software systems and ERP platforms.

• Experience with high-volume invoice processing and 2- or 3-way matching.

• Knowledge of sales and use tax application in accounts payable.

• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to manage vendor disputes effectively.

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

• Ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.

• Previous experience in a similar role within the accounting or finance field.
