Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Accountant to join our growing finance and accounting team. The ideal candidate will bring an advanced understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and technical accounting. As a Senior Accountant, you will play a key role in ensuring the organization’s financial health by managing complex financial processes, overseeing compliance, and advising team members. You will also collaborate across departments to support business goals and reporting accuracy.

Month-End and Year-End Close:

+ Lead month-end and year-end closing processes, including the preparation and recording of journal entries and reconciliation of balance sheet accounts.

+ Ensure the accuracy of general ledger accounts and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.

Financial Reporting:

+ Prepare and analyze company-level financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.

+ Assist with internal and external audit processes by providing required documentation and supporting schedules.

Technical Accounting:

+ Apply expertise in technical accounting principles to ensure compliance with regulations such as GAAP or IFRS.

+ Research and implement new accounting standards as needed.

Process Improvement:

+ Identify and recommend process improvements for efficiency and accuracy in financial workflows, including automation opportunities through ERP systems.

+ Collaborate on system implementations and upgrades to ensure functionality meets team requirements.

Team Leadership and Oversight:

+ Provide guidance and mentorship to junior accounting staff.

+ Oversee accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), payroll reconciliation, and general accounting tasks completed by team members.

Compliance and Tax Preparation:

+ Ensure compliance with company policies, local/regional regulations, and tax-related filings.

+ Coordinate the preparation and review of tax documents and reports for external filings.

Business Support:

+ Act as a key business partner to department heads by providing financial insights, forecasts, and budget monitoring.

+ Support ad hoc financial analyses to guide strategic decision-making.

Requirements

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or equivalent certification strongly preferred.

Experience: 5+ years of progressive accounting experience in industries such as construction, healthcare, manufacturing, or financial services.

Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in ERP software and Microsoft Excel, with a preference for candidates experienced in financial reporting systems.

Soft Skills: Excellent analytical, interpersonal, and problem-solving abilities with a strong attention to detail.

Compliance Knowledge: Familiarity with tax regulations, compliance reporting, and auditing principles.
