Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our team in Stamford, Connecticut. This role offers the opportunity to work with diverse clients across various industries, managing essential accounting functions and fostering strong vendor and customer relationships. Responsibilities:
• Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, including verifying, allocating, and posting transactions.
• Prepare and analyze financial reports by collecting and summarizing account data.
• Maintain and reconcile the general ledger to ensure accurate financial records.
• Handle interactions with vendors and customers to address inquiries and maintain strong relationships.
• Establish and oversee financial policies and procedures, including creating and managing a chart of accounts.
• Monitor and balance accounts by reviewing entries and ensuring accuracy.
• Generate invoices for accounts receivable, review payments received, and record deposits.
• Process expense reports, resolve payment issues, and prepare checks for disbursement.
• Support month-end close activities by reconciling accounts and preparing necessary documentation.
• Assist with payroll processing and ensure compliance with relevant standards. Requirements • Proficiency in QuickBooks, including QuickBooks Online.
• Experience with coding invoices and handling data entry tasks.
• Familiarity with accounting software such as Oracle, Sage, or Yardi.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with clients and team members.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration is preferred.
• Previous experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar accounting role.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel for managing and analyzing financial data.
• Ability to perform account reconciliations and manage month-end close processes.
