• Staff/Senior Accountant

    Robert Half Finance & Accounting (Virginia Beach, VA)


    Description

    We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Staff/Senior Accountant in Virginia Beach, Virginia.

    Responsibilities:

    • Accurately set up all leases in the accounting system

    • Perform monthly rent roll and post all payments

    • Support monthly accounting functions such as accounts payable

    • Post journal and adjusting entries

    • Conduct high-volume bank reconciliations

    • Post accruals and prepare financial statements for multiple entities

    • Analyze statements and prepare variance and trend reports

    • Provide accounts receivable services

    • Maintain general ledger and perform month-end close

    • Oversee the chart of accounts.

    Requirements • Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or related field

    • Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

    • Demonstrated experience with Bank Reconciliations

    • Competence in managing General Ledger

    • Ability to make accurate Journal Entries

    • Experience in Month End Close procedures

    • Familiarity with Chart of Accounts

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required

    • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent certification is preferred

    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

    • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite

    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

    • Knowledge of real estate industry is a plus.
