Description We are looking for a Patient Account Associate to join our team in Folsom, California. In this contract position, you will play a key role in managing medical billing and collection processes for patient accounts. This role requires attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with patients, insurance providers, and government agencies.

Responsibilities:

• Review, correct, and submit medical claims to insurance providers and other payers with accuracy.

• Communicate with patients, third-party payers, and government agencies to gather and process information for proper reimbursement.

• Follow up on unpaid accounts, initiate corrective actions, and ensure timely resolution of outstanding balances.

• Calculate and post write-offs, debits, credits, and contractual adjustments to patient accounts.

• Process and post insurance and personal payments accurately to the correct patient accounts.

• Take action on past-due and denied claims to ensure collection and resolution.

• Meet or exceed productivity and quality standards as established by the organization.

• Maintain compliance with all applicable healthcare billing regulations and organizational policies.

• Perform additional duties as assigned to support the patient account management process. Requirements • High school diploma or equivalent is required; an associate’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred.

• Previous experience in healthcare billing or medical collections is strongly preferred.

• Certification in coding is a plus.

• Familiarity with medical billing processes, claim administration, and collection procedures.

• Strong skills in payment processing, adjustments, and reimbursement calculations.

• Ability to communicate effectively with patients, insurance providers, and government agencies.

• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management skills.

• Proficiency in navigating healthcare billing systems and related software.
