Description

Peter Danielson with Robert Half is looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee and enhance financial operations for our client in SW Portland. This role involves managing accounting functions, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and leading a team to achieve organizational goals. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in financial reporting, inventory costing, and manufacturing accounting practices.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the month-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.

• Prepare and review financial statements in compliance with US GAAP and company standards.

• Oversee inventory tracking and costing, including job costing and forecasting processes.

• Supervise and mentor accounting staff, fostering growth and ensuring team efficiency.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize financial workflows and reporting accuracy.

• Ensure compliance with all applicable accounting regulations and policies.

• Analyze financial data to support business decisions and strategic planning.

• Manage and review general ledger activities to maintain data accuracy and integrity.

Requirements • Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.

• Background in manufacturing accounting is preferred but not required.

• Strong expertise in month-end close processes and financial statement preparation.

• Proficiency in inventory costing, job costing, and financial forecasting.

• Comprehensive knowledge of US GAAP and its application in various accounting practices.

• Excellent leadership and team management skills.

• Strong analytical abilities and attention to detail.

• Familiarity with accounting software and systems, with a willingness to adapt to new technologies.
