Description We are looking for an experienced Controller to join our team in Lake Mary, Florida. In this long-term contract position, you will oversee financial operations for a growing startup subsidiary, managing a team of skilled professionals and ensuring accurate financial reporting. This is a hands-on leadership role offering a unique opportunity to contribute to a business generating approximately $160 million in revenue.
Responsibilities:
• Lead and manage a team of five experienced finance professionals, fostering collaboration and maintaining high-performance standards.
• Oversee financial operations for a startup division, ensuring compliance with accounting principles and company policies.
• Review and present financial reports to the ownership group, providing clear insights for strategic decision-making.
• Collaborate with the VP of Financial Planning and other senior leaders to align financial strategies with business goals.
• Ensure accuracy in accounts payable, accounts receivable, and other accounting functions.
• Conduct audits and implement improvements to optimize financial processes and reporting accuracy.
• Prepare and monitor budgets, ensuring financial targets are met and variances are addressed.
• Evaluate and enhance the use of accounting software systems, including Microsoft AX, to improve efficiency.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to team members, addressing challenges with strong leadership skills.
• Adapt to evolving business needs and support upcoming transitions to new financial software systems. Requirements • Proven experience as a Controller or in a similar senior-level financial management role.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team with diverse personalities.
• Expertise in financial reporting, budgeting, and auditing processes.
• Proficiency in accounting software systems, including Microsoft AX, and familiarity with CRM tools.
• Solid understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general accounting functions.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on accuracy and efficiency.
• Experience working in a high-revenue environment, ideally with startups or small businesses.
• Strong communication skills to effectively interact with senior leadership and cross-functional teams.
