    + JOB DESCRIPTION DETAILS

    + Job Summary :

    + Assessing, counseling, and educating patients on their diet. Assesses a patient’s diet, promotes good dietary health, and treats medical conditions by devising eating plans for patients based on the science of nutrition.

    + Education :

    + Position requires a Bachelor's Degree in Nutritional Science or a related field from an accredited college or university and successful completion of an accredited dietetics program through the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND).

    + Registration/Certification/Licensure :

    + Maryland State licensure as a Dietitian/Nutritionist is required.

    + Credentialed Registered Dietitian by the Commission of Dietetic Registration (CDR) is required.

    + Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE) or Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES) required for incumbents who will be performing diabetic education.

    + Unexpired, unsuspended driver’s license if incumbent will be required to drive as part of their routine job duties.

    + Experience :

    + Position requires 1-2 years related experience.

    + Other Requirements :

    + Maintains unit-specific and hospital competencies, mandatory learning, and any clinical certifications required in accordance with the Staff Education and Training policy GA-057 and/or any other department requirements.

    + Effectively communicates with all patient populations and staff by implementing organization-wide communication techniques as a daily practice.

    + Effectively advocates for quality patient safety and satisfaction as a daily practice.

    + Maintains unit-specific and hospital competencies in accordance with policy and/or department requirements.

    + Demonstrated proficiency of computer skills necessary to effectively complete position requirements including Microsoft Office Products.

    + Previous experience and demonstrated professionalism in effectively communicating with customers and in promoting a positive service atmosphere.

    + Ability to work independently in a multi-task environment producing quality work.

    + May require the ability to drive as part of routine job duties.
