Description
Management Resources is seeking an Interim Controller for a 3 month contract in Arlington. The Interim Controller will oversee financial operations, manage a skilled accounting team, and ensure accuracy in financial reporting.
Responsibilities:
• Prepare and deliver accurate monthly financial statements, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
• Oversee the month-end close process, coordinating with team members to finalize financial data efficiently.
• Supervise and guide the accounting team in areas such as accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and general ledger maintenance.
• Analyze and address financial discrepancies, providing solutions to resolve any issues.
• Manage account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records.
• Support forecasting and budgeting efforts, contributing to the organization’s financial planning.
• Ensure adherence to internal controls and compliance standards to safeguard financial integrity.
• Present financial reports and insights to leadership, offering recommendations for informed decision-making.
• Foster a collaborative and communicative work environment within the accounting team and across departments.
• Utilize advanced Excel skills to analyze financial data and streamline reporting processes.
Requirements
• Bachelors in Accounting or Finance, with over 5 years experience as a Controller
• Proven ability to prepare and present accurate financial statements, including month-end close processes.
• Demonstrated experience managing and mentoring accounting staff to achieve team goals.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel, including tools and functions for financial analysis.
• Strong knowledge of account reconciliation processes and best practices.
• Familiarity with budgeting and forecasting techniques to support financial planning.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve financial discrepancies.
