Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Medical Coder with expertise in non-clinical health information management to join our team in San Leandro, California. In this long-term contract position, you will play a key role in ensuring accurate coding and compliance with payer-level requirements. This is an excellent opportunity for professionals who are passionate about maintaining high standards in medical documentation and coding practices.

Responsibilities:

• Provide accurate service line coding to ensure compliance with payer-level standards.

• Educate healthcare providers on proper coding practices and documentation requirements.

• Review and correct physician coding to maintain alignment with current regulations.

• Update diagnosis codes to reflect documentation that supports medical necessity and specificity.

• Ensure all coding practices adhere to established compliance guidelines and standards.

• Collaborate with physicians and staff to resolve coding discrepancies.

• Analyze medical documentation to identify areas for improvement in coding accuracy.

• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of coding regulations and payer requirements.

• Contribute to the development of training materials for ongoing coding education.

• Support the organization by ensuring coding practices align with operational goals.

Requirements • Proven experience in medical coding, with a focus on non-clinical health information management.
