Tax Accountant (Stamford, CT)

This highly organized professional will prepare and analyze tax returns, probate accountings, and other financial documents related to sophisticated client trusts and investments. The ideal candidate will have at least two years of experience in trust and estate administration, possess strong fiduciary accounting skills, and have a general understanding of law firm practices and procedures.

Responsibilities

+ Prepare federal and state death tax returns, income tax returns (for estates and trusts), gift tax returns, and probate accountings.

+ Track return due dates and ensure all filings and extensions are completed in a timely manner.

+ Collaborate with clients, trustees, banks, and firm personnel to obtain and clarify investment and legal documentation.

+ Participate in trust and estate administration processes, including planning, analysis, and necessary filings.

Requirements

Preferred Qualifications

+ 2+ years of experience in fiduciary accounting and tax reporting is preferred.

+ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

+ Proficiency in MS Excel is expected.

+ Demonstrated ability to develop and manage case materials and organize financial information effectively.

+ Technical Proficiency: MS Excel and trust accounting systems experience.
