Description

We are looking for a skilled Intake/Medical Billing Specialist to join our team on a Contract to permanent basis in South Orange County, California. In this role, you will manage patient data intake and billing processes in a laboratory environment, ensuring accuracy and compliance with medical regulations. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to a fast-paced, detail-oriented setting while collaborating with healthcare professionals.

Responsibilities:

• Accurately log patient samples and accompanying data into laboratory information systems.

• Perform precise data entry tasks related to patient billing, adhering to deadlines and accuracy standards.

• Maintain confidentiality of patient records, complying with medical privacy regulations.

• Collaborate with laboratory and clinical staff to resolve discrepancies in patient data.

• Stay updated on billing regulations and practices specific to laboratory services.

• Follow established accessioning protocols and procedures.

• Conduct regular quality control checks to ensure data entry accuracy.

• Address and resolve billing-related issues efficiently.

Requirements • High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in Medical Billing, Health Information Management, or a related field is preferred.

• At least 2 years of experience in data entry, ideally in a medical or laboratory setting.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with billing software applications.

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

• Ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

• Knowledge of medical terminology and coding is preferred.

• Experience with systems such as Allscripts, Cerner Technologies, Epaces, and EHR systems is advantageous.
