Starting Salary: $70,000 - $90,000 + Bonus
We are looking for a Senior Accountant to join our team in Holt, Michigan. This role involves ensuring the accuracy of financial transactions while providing critical management reporting, financial planning, and analysis. The Senior Accountant will work closely with the Director of Accounting to maintain robust processes and controls, support decision-making through data analysis, and oversee key financial functions.
Responsibilities:
• Record and ensure the accuracy of financial transactions in compliance with established standards.
• Perform detailed reconciliations of balance sheets and other accounting records.
• Prepare and manage monthly profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.
• Lead the fixed asset capitalization process and serve as the primary accountant for related tasks.
• Assist in calculating, auditing, and reporting commissions.
• Drive best practices in financial reporting and analysis across various divisions of the organization.
• Monitor trends and key performance indicators, providing insights to support strategic decision-making.
• Build and maintain collaborative relationships across all levels of the organization to achieve financial goals.
• Develop and enhance processes and IT reporting systems to ensure timely and accurate data production.
• Explore and implement automation opportunities using tools like business intelligence platforms, Excel macros, and Microsoft PowerApps.
Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
• A minimum of five years of corporate accounting experience or equivalent.
• Strong skills in account reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, and general ledger management.
• Proficiency in preparing journal entries and performing month-end close processes.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including the use of formulas, macros, and data analysis tools.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Experience with financial systems and business intelligence tools is a plus.
• Proven ability to analyze data and identify trends to support organizational decision-making.
