The Omni Boston Hotel at the Seaport, acclaimed as the #1 Meeting Hotel in the Northeast and #13 in North America by CVENT in 2025, is searching for a visionary Director of Sales. We need a leader who embodies strong leadership, can elevate overall revenue growth, champions a team and customer-centric approach, and desires to join an industry-leading company. Based in Boston, you will take charge of a dynamic group sales team focused on acquiring and developing key accounts and generating substantial revenue. This role is critical for maximizing revenues for the Omni Boston Hotel at the Seaport through direct sales initiatives, targeted marketing, and specific activities aimed at group sales accounts. Success will be measured by increased revenues from group room-related bookings, an improved share of account revenue, and enhanced customer value.
Extensive full-service hotel leadership experience is a mandatory requirement for this position.
Responsibilities
+ Lead the hotel’s group sales team, which includes five Directors of National Accounts, three Group Sales Managers, and four sales coordinators.
+ Collaborate with the Director of Sales & Marketing to develop, implement, and refine strategies and action plans for generating top-line revenues.
+ Assume responsibility for managing the accuracy, and maximizing the volume and conversion of the group sales pipeline.
+ Oversee the property’s client and account management to ensure production targets are consistently met and client satisfaction remains high.
+ Inspire productivity across all sales staff through effective guidance, tailored development, and consistent support.
+ Maintain the Sales Team’s commitment to a proactive solicitation environment.
+ Ensure that all administrative procedures are operating efficiently.
+ Enhance the hotel's visibility through active participation in industry associations and trade shows.
+ Cultivate a challenging and stimulating environment to foster comprehensive career development and personal growth.
Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
+ Minimum of 5 years of large hotel sales experience in a director or senior leadership capacity.
+ Must be a self-motivated team player who consistently contributes positive energy.
+ Exceptional interpersonal skills and the proven ability to excel in a team-oriented setting.
+ Outstanding capability in delivering group presentations, both written and oral.
+ Adept at managing multiple priorities and effectively re-prioritizing when necessary.
+ Robust business planning, account planning, and budget management expertise.
+ Demonstrated ability to be innovative in developing revenue-driving strategies.
+ Proven track record of connecting strategic actions directly to measurable results.
+ Strong financial/statistical analysis and business case development skills.
+ Profound understanding and expertise in the sales process.
+ Extensive experience in account management.
+ Experience in a convention center hotel.
+ Proficient in the use of Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
+ Travel – 25%.
