Job Summary:
A Plant Systems Specialist is responsible for managing, maintaining and acting as overall administrator for plants systems database, servers, software, automation hardware, networks, reports and associated manufacturing applications. This involves working with cross functional teams of controls, operations and information technology to plan and execute strategies without impacting the organization's day-to-day production activities. They develop, plan and provide technical expertise to ensure the manufacturing system technical architecture is operational and secure throughout the integration process.
Core Responsibilities:
• Manage and maintain the SQL Server databases, data servers, manufacturing application servers and user security as an administrator.
• Create new insightful reports/dashboards using SQL, Google data studio, Tableau, DOMO and maintain existing report’s structure and dashboards.
• Responsible for configuration, programming, maintenance and upgrade of plant automation hardware and equipment like industrial thin clients, label applicators, printers, date coders, dashboard screens, controllers and other manufacturing instruments / devices.
• Responsible for Manufacturing Application Management, Server management, upgrade and updates in alignment with Colgate/Hill’s IT protocols.
• Develop and Maintain plant KPI screens/dashboards, Manufacturing Applications, HMI / SCADA Screens and various manufacturing application user interface (UI).
• Manage, maintain and troubleshoot plant security systems like CCTVs and access badge readers and control panels
• Meet yearly plant and departmental objectives as assigned time to time
• Assist with System application programming, development and troubleshooting.
• Manage, maintain and troubleshoot SAP MII transaction monitoring, troubleshooting and maintaining reports integrity.
• Assist in driving plant system integration and upgrade projects.
• Ability and willingness to answer and attend off-shift calls from operations, troubleshoot and give resolutions in timely manner.
• Backup Plant IT specialist in LAN administration task and on-call coverage.
Basic qualifications:
• Associate degree / diploma or equivalent in engineering, data science, computer management, supply chain operations and/or IT or a related technical field.
• 2 - 6 years’ experience in systems engineering, technology management and database administration in the manufacturing industry.
• Strong knowledge of SQL Database management, manufacturing integration, reporting services, application management and user security protocols.
• Minimum of two years hands on experience working with database administration, reporting services and software management in a manufacturing environment.
• Hands on Computer hardware and software programming techniques, LAN, WAN, Networks / Networking. Data Integration middleware tools and protocols.
• Well versed with Microsoft Computer Systems & Google Tools.
Preferred qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in engineering, data science, computer management, supply chain operations, IT or related field preferred.
• Proficient in Stakeholder management (customer centric attitude).
• Experience with Wonderware InTouch SCADA, Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), Wonderware and Rockwell Automation software Suites.
• SAP Business System interactions with databases and applications.
• General Manufacturing System Application programming and coding.
• Front end tool development (Wonderware, VB, Java, HTML, SQL Reports and other Reporting Services).
+ Experience Managed Switched Ethernet, Multi-mode fiber, CAT5/CAT6, Cisco Switches, LAN, WANAllen-Bradley, Siemens, ELAU & PLC Networks and automation hardware.
• Experience in managing Microsoft Active Directory, Business File Server, Google Tools /Data Studio / Reports.
Compensation and Benefits
Salary Range $84,500.00 - $93,000.00 USD
Pay is determined based on experience, qualifications, and location. Salaried employees may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, profit-sharing, and long-term incentives for Executive-level roles.
Benefits: Salaried employees enjoy a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, basic life insurance, paid parental leave, disability coverage, and participation in the 401(k) retirement plan with company matching contributions subject to eligibility requirements. Additional benefits include a minimum of 15 vacation/PTO days (hourly employees receive a minimum of 120 hours) and 13 paid holidays (vacation days are prorated based on the employee's hire date within the calendar year). Paid sick leave is adjusted based on role and location in accordance with local laws. Detailed information regarding paid sick leave entitlements will be provided to employees upon hiring and may be subject to adjustments based on changes in legislation or company policies.
